For the correct estimation of post mortem interval (PMI), it’s prerequisite to identify the insect specimens found in and around the dead bodies accurately. There are number of methods which can be used for this purpose. In the present review paper, we are presenting the review of various methods used for the species identification of flies of Indian origin.
