This dissertation Examines the existing environmental laws laid down by the UK government with an objective of protecting the environment from the chemical sector. The dissertation will study and examine this sector in UK briefly and provide a comparative and contextual analysis. This paper aims at explaining how are chemical companies exploiting the resources supported by existing statistics. Furthermore, the dissertation will compare the existing rules and regulations of UK with the top three leading chemical producing countries in the world. Finally, the dissertation concludes that, although there exists several rules and regulations for companies to manage their recourses and operations, there still is a need of certain reforms for better content. This topic is a vast and an ambiguous subject which still lacks an in depth research but the main motive of this dissertation is to shed some light on this issue as there still exists a bewilderment.
