In order to regenerate and propagate complete plants, the technique of plant tissue culture is used to grow isolated plant cells, tissues, and organs in axenic conditions (in vitro). All plant cultures, including callus, cell, protoplast, anther, meristem, embryo, and organ cultures, are frequently referred to collectively as "tissue cultures" in this context. In order to answer crucial fundamental questions in plant biology, plant cell, tissue, and organ culture techniques were created and established as an experimental necessity. However, they now serve as very valuable biotechnological tools for a number of crucial applications, including the commercial micropropagation of various plant species, the production of disease-free plant materials, the production of haploid and double haploid plants, and the induction of epigenetic or genetic variation. Besides the main sources of carbohydrates, vitamins, and plant growth regulators, a medium is a mixture of inorganic salts and organic substances used to nourish plant cultures.
