Abstract:
Rapid population growth and increasing economic activity have led to massive motor vehicle production. It is one of the major causes of road accidents on Indian National Roads. The rising number of road accidents place major economic and social pressures on the victims as well as numerous direct and indirect costs. The key causes for road accidents are unsafe contacts between drivers, drivers and other road users. Different factors such as paving characteristics, geometrical characteristics, traffic characteristics, road user behaviour, vehicle design, driver's features and environmental aspects may cause unsatisfactory interactions. Key cultural, transport and transportation lifelines for a nation are highways. When the world growing, traffic and the amount of road accidents often rise. It is difficult for the nation to expand without roads. The situation of traffic deaths is worrying in India. Throughout the analysis described in the dissertation, the incident prone areas in the chosen region of NH-1 were established (66-112 Km) and strengthened.
