Role of Plank Exercise in improving core stability in school children – A narrative review Sapna Tank1, Hardini Prajapati2 1Government Physiotheray College, Dahod, Dahod, India. 2AIMS Physiotheray College Lapkaman, Ahmedabad, India Abstract TITLE: - Role of Plank Exercise in improving core stability in school children – A narrative review CATEGORY: -Senior paper presentation/ Senior poster presentation ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: School children are at risk for suffering from various musculoskeletal injuries through out life. Core stability exercise in the form of plank exercise increases core muscle endurance and reduce chances of injuries that originated from reduced or defective core muscle activation. PURPOSE OF THE STUDY: The aim of the review is to find effect of plank exercise to improve core stability in school children. METHODOLOGY: Evidences collected by various data base like Google Scholar, PubMed, Medline, PEDro and ClinicalTrials.gov. RESULTS Based on all evidences and reviewing articles, it is found that Plank exercise can used to improve core stability in school children. CONCLUSION: Plank exercise improves core muscle stability in school children. KEY WORDS: Plank exercise, Plank, Children, Core stability, Core Endurance
