To study the various factors when the bearing is used to support a shaft which is placed vertically with axial load that influence the life of the bearing. Years of field experience and laboratory testings, together with advanced calculations, form the base for development of computer programs used to analyze and dimension the rotating system where bearing and shaft plays an important role.
