Tumors which outset in the glial cells are called gliomas. Tumors may be low grade(leisurely growing)or high grade(rapid growing). Doctors decide treatment based on the type of gliomas. The main problem in MRI scanning is that tumor cannot be detected easily in initial stage. In this project ,a well equipped system is used to differentiate normal brain and abnormal brain. It classifies abnormal images into HGG and LGG tumor. This system uses otsu binarization to convert original image into binarized image and then k-means segmentation technique for clustering. Feature extraction is implemented using Discrete Cosine Transform(DCT). SVM classifier is the tool employed for classification which detects the tumor in the initial stage through training.
