Health Insurance, Health Services, Beneficiary satisfaction, RBSY-CHIS
Even though, technological innovations in health care system has helped to increase the quality of health care services, the increasing cost of health technology has made the health services unaffordable to poor and depressed sections of the community. The non accessibility of health care services to vulnerable is a serious issue in front of authorities. Government of India has adopted several measures to make the health services accessible to economically backward population. An effective health insurance intervention by the government that subsidise or cover the entire medical expenditure of the poor people will help them to access high quality medical services. The survey on the effectiveness of RBSY-CHIS scheme in Kerala reveals that the programme is useful to poor people as it provided access to avail medical service in the context of rising cost of medical services.
