Abstract

Introduction: The 3D computer graphics (3D‐CG) animation using a virtual speaking is very effective as an educational medium. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of animation movies on dietary behavior. Methods: The study involved a total of 254 school children students from government, government aided and matriculation schools in Coimbatore city with 127 students each in both intervention and control group. Animation movie was prepared as three dimensional with topics on importance of healthy eating, ill effects of high energy snacks, labeling, etc. One day in a week an animated movie was screened, so a total of 3 movies were screened for the intervention period of 21 days. Results: Findings demonstrated that the intervention group showed a higher mean in knowledge, mean attitude and also in mean behaviour after study. Conclusion : The study was most effective in government school students than comparing to the other school students.
