Abstract:
Heat is a major problem in VLSI circuits. However, reversible logic provides zero heat dissipation. Therefore, it plays an important role in nanotechnology, such as the design of low-power Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductors [CMOS]. The main focus in the world of today's electronics is the design of low power circuits. In modern technology, the increase in the number of transistors, the high speed operation and the clock frequency raise important concerns about the low power design. Reversible logic plays an important role when considering VLSI circuits with minimal power dissipation. It has the ability to reduce power consumption by recovering the loss of bits from the characteristic one-to-one mapping. This paper describes a new design for a Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) encoder using an existing RSC encoder by using reversible gate and along with previous LDPC encoder based on Conventional technique. The proposed LDPC encoder is encoded and synthesized in Verilog-HDL. The power analysis report shows that the proposed LDPC encoder circuit consumes less power than the conventional one.
