Financial planning is a very crucial aspect of one’s life, be it a business, an individual or a family everyone have certain financial goals and in order to successfully realize these goals creation of a financial plan comes into picture. The financial plan encompasses several components such as: Savings and budget management, Debt management, Insurance planning, Investment planning, Retirement planning and Tax planning. The purpose of the study is to explore the awareness on personal financial planning and the components among individuals working in private sector in India. For the study, data is collected with the help of a questionnaire to assess the respondents’ financial perspective and awareness, the respondents are categorized into two groups based on their age i.e. Below 30 years of age and Above 30 years of age. The study concludes that the above 30 age group are apparently more aware about various aspects of financial planning compared to the below 30 age group.
