Abstract:
The objective of this study is to analyze the role played by education in the relationship between renewable energy consumption and economic growth in Cameroon. Using the ARDL method for the period 1990 to 2020, the results reveal that there is no significant long-term relationship, although it is positive, between renewable energy consumption and economic growth. However, in the short term, renewable energy consumption increases economic growth by 20%, with education playing a role. It would therefore be important to rehabilitate renewable energy platforms and ensure monitoring and evaluation. Additionally, Cameroon should invest more in education to strengthen the positive effect of renewable energy consumption on economic growth.
