Abstract

A novel organocopper reagent is synthesised from o-phenylene diamine and copper acetate. This reagent is highly stable at room temperature and easy to handle and use. This reagent is found to reduce various functional group compounds namely acids, aldehydes, ketones, nitriles and nitro aromatics.
