This abstract provides a concise overview of the research article exploring feminist themes in the works of Mulk Raj Anand. Drawing from his celebrated novels such as "Untouchable" and "Coolie," as well as notable short stories like "The Lament of the Old Pensioner," this study aims to unravel the layers of feminism embedded in Anand's narratives. Through meticulous analysis, the research sheds light on Anand's portrayal of female characters, their agency, and the intersectionality of their experiences within the cultural context of pre-independent India. This study contributes to a more profound understanding of gender dynamics with in the cultural context of pre independent India, by examining critical perspectives from scholars and critics such as Khushwant Singh, Meenakshi Mukherjee, R. K. Dhawan, Mridula Garg, and Ritu Menon, the study offers a comprehensive understanding of Anand's engagement with feminist discourse and his contribution to Indian literature.
