Abstract: Recent years have seen a dramatic change in how transgender people are portrayed in movies. In the past, transgender people have only been portrayed as conventional, one-dimensional caricatures that reinforce negative prejudices and don't accurately represent the variety of the transgender community. However, there has been a discernible change in recent movies towards more nuanced and supportive portrayals of transgender people. This essay investigates the evolving trends in the portrayal of transgender people in movies by looking at a selection of movies that have been released in the previous ten years. This article examines how transgender characters are portrayed in terms of their characterization, narrative purpose, and overall representation using a content analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that, although there are still some instances of inappropriate portrayal, there has been an improvement in how transgender people are portrayed generally. Additionally, research shows that these positive portrayals have the ability to counteract negative perceptions and raise the transgender community's profile and acceptance in society.
